Glasgow Acting Academy SCIO is one of Scotland’s most exciting training platforms for children and young people (aged 4-18) in the performing arts, priding itself on a quality teaching and learning experience as well as its unique family-like environment and accessibility. A Registered Scottish Charity, Glasgow Acting Academy is a non-profit making organisation, and is open for 50 weeks of the year.
At GAA, whether a student wishes to pursue a future career in the performing arts, or whether they wish to build their confidence levels, make friends and have fun, our key aim is to nurture our young people’s talents, to develop key transferable communication and social skills, and to promote self-expression through encouraging them to step outside their comfort zone in a safe, judgement-free environment.
The opportunities we create give an insight into the life of a working performer and the performing arts industry, with our classes and workshops delivered by professionally qualified working actors and musicians, but regardless of the young people’s long-term career goals, their experiences and skills honed at the stage school will be invaluable in any future workplace or university/college application.
