Oscars 2017
Thanks to everyone who came to see “Eight” in March, we raised enough money to do something really special for our Oscars. This year’s ceremony will be held at the National Piping Centre. This will be the biggest and best Oscars GAA has ever done. Do not miss out on this evening of, awards, entertainment, glitz and glamour. Tickets are priced at £10 and can be purchased in the office. All students, ex-students, family and friends of GAA are welcome.



Snow White and the Seven Weegies Audition
Glasgow Acting Academy's 2017 pantomime will be...Snow White and the Seven Weegies. GAA's panto is always a 6 night sell out and is our biggest show of the year. We are inviting students and non-GAA students aged 8-18 to take part in our workshop audition on Wednesday 28th June 5pm-8pm. There is sign-up sheet on the front desk for auditionees. Physical Theatre Summer School
“Imagine living in a world where your voice isn't heard”Ryan J Mackay, 2015 “Ignition” graduate from physical theatre company “Frantic Assembly” will be holding a physical based summer school focusing on the ins and outs of becoming a physical performer. The week will involve comedy, tears, lots of sweat and a brilliant show at the end. This week is for 11-18 year olds from 10am-4pm from 31st July-4th August (excluding Wednesday). Playwritting Summer School
Tisch School of the Arts student, Aodhan Gallagher will be facilitating a playwriting week for ages 11-18 from the 10th-14th July (excluding Wednesday). “Ever had a great idea and just didn’t know how to get it down on paper? Well, if you take this one-week course, not only will you get past that uneasy feeling of not knowing how to express your ideas but with guidance, group feedback and training, you will complete a full play of your own by the end of the week. The aim of this course is for every participant to leave with a short yet complete piece of writing for theatre that they can be proud of but also continue to work on and develop after the course is done. Hamilton Summer School
The musical theatre summer school will be focused on the hit Broadway musical, “Hamilton”. From 3rd-7th July (excluding Wednesday), Rachel and Steve will be facilitating this week, working towards a showcase on the Friday. This show has taken the world by storm and it is a favourite among our students, so book your place and don’t “throw away your shot”. Summer schools run from 10am-4pm.
